BTCCSquare news:

Spanish banking giant Bankinter has taken a minority stake in cryptocurrency exchange Bit2Me as part of a €30 million funding round that included Tether's participation. The move signals growing institutional interest in digital assets, with Bankinter joining BBVA, Unicaja, and Cecabank as backers of the Madrid-based platform.

Bit2Me's regulatory compliance under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets framework positions it for European and Latin American expansion. The partnership will explore blockchain synergies, particularly in distributed ledger technology applications for traditional finance.

The investment reflects Spain's emerging role in crypto institutional adoption, with major banks increasingly bridging traditional finance and digital assets. Bit2Me's established position among regulated exchanges makes it a strategic entry point for Bankinter's digital asset ambitions.
